TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
WEDDING GUIDELINES
We congratulate you on your forthcoming marriage! We pray that God will bless your relationship with more joy than you dreamed possible.
A Christian wedding is performed in the context of worship. This reminds us that the marriage vows are made before God, and that Christ is to be at the heart of every marriage relationship. In the uniting of a man and woman in marriage, God performs a miracle in which you are at the center. Therefore, everything in the service is intended to create an atmosphere of joy, reverence, beauty and expectation.
Trinity Presbyterian Church provides you with experienced people to aid you with your wedding. It has been our experience that when details of a wedding are carefully planned, the result is a happy and memorable occasion. So that your wedding may be such an experience, we ask your cooperation in observing the guidelines you find in this brochure.

to the total cost of the wedding. Once the deposit has been received, the wedding will be recorded as
a permanent booking on the church’s master calendar.
♥ The wedding rehearsal will be recorded as a permanent booking at the time the deposit is paid.
CONSULTING WITH THE WEDDING DIRECTOR
Services of the Wedding Director are required for all weddings and receptions at Trinity. Please consult with her immediately after booking to discuss guidelines regarding florist, photographers, videographers, etc.
MEETING WITH THE MINISTER
Before a wedding booking can be finalized, you need to meet with the pastor of Trinity. In addition, before you are married, you are provided with a pre-marital counseling series with the pastor. This normally runs about six sessions. This series helps prepare you for the blessings God has in store for you and explores many aspects of marriage and family life from both a spiritual and practical perspective.
Ordinarily, all weddings are conducted by a minister of this church. However, it is possible to have another Christian minister officiate. The pastor of Trinity will have more details about how to get this approved.
REHEARSAL
The rehearsal in an important part of making the wedding day what you hope it to be. The bride and groom are responsible to see that their parents and all members of the wedding party attend the rehearsal. They should be prompt, as we allow approximately one hour for rehearsal. Please remind all who attend that the rehearsal is in the Sanctuary and that proper dress and decorum should be observed.
MUSIC
A Christian wedding is also a worship service in which the bride and groom ask God’s blessing on their union. The music should therefore be appropriate for Christian worship, and should give direct attention to God.
Ordinarily, the church organist plays for all wedding services. However, it is possible to have another organist play. The wedding director will have more details about how to get this approved.
It is the responsibility of the couple to discuss their choice of music with the organist and, if desired, to secure other special music for the wedding. All music should be approved one month prior to the wedding.
If you wish to have soloists or other guest musicians for the ceremony, they must meet with or contact the organist one month prior to the rehearsal so arrangements can be made concerning their music.
FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS
All fees are due to the Wedding Director one month prior to the wedding.
The fee includes the following: Sanctuary, Wedding Director, custodian, kneeling bench (if desired), bride’s room, candles, unity candle and organist. It does not include an honorarium for the pastor.
RECEPTION
We have facilities to accommodate up to 200 persons. Please contact the Wedding Director for details and fees.
BRIDE AND GROOM RESPONSIBILITIES
It is the responsibility of the bride and groom to read, understand and follow these policies. They are also to inform the members of the wedding party about these guidelines prior to the wedding date and see that they are observed.
California law requires a marriage license, and it is the responsibility of the couple to obtain one. They may be purchased at the Ventura County Court Clerk’s Office Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 500 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA, (805) 654-3788.
