Music At least fifty-two times each year, we are reminded of our Mission as we find it printed as part of our Order of Worship. To glorify God as we worship and grow together as disciples of Jesus Christ, Engaging our world in ministry and mission by the power of the Holy Spirit. How fortunate I am to have the blessing, privilege, and responsibility of addressing the whole of our Mission in my ministry here at Trinity. As Director of Music Ministries, I have been exceptionally blessed to minister with our dedicated Trinity Choir whose hearts and voices blend weekly to lead our congregation in worship; and by our Celebration Choir as additional church members have joined us to lead in two special worship celebrations: “I Hear God’s Music” in June and “God’s Promise” to begin our Advent season. It has been thrilling to hear our Congregation Choir lift their voices in praise during our packed Traditional Service each Sunday; and to have our Men’s Chorus, Women’s Chorus, and all-church Joyful Noise Chorus bless the congregation throughout the year. I am grateful to our Trinity Handbell Choir for ringing their praise to God and to Dan Rhymes for lending his gifts to return as its director. I am blessed by the gifted ministries of our organist/accompanist, Nancy Austin and grateful for and to each member of the Choir Executive Board for their support, encouragement, and hard work. I continue to be grateful for and to Linda Rhymes for her many ministries with us. Although it was difficult to say “good-bye” to Britta Phillips as our Praise Team leader, it will be exciting to see their ministry grow under the new leadership of Ana Rebecca Smith. I continue to be blessed by the children and staff of The Children’s Place as I help lead their chapel times each week. I am grateful to be able to serve on the Worship Commission and both the Traditional and Contemporary Worship Planning Teams and to work with these gifted, dedicated, and creative people. This year I hope to resurrect our Kid’s Khoir, build an instrumental ministry, help create and support a Youth Praise Team with Britta and Jeff, and to begin to integrate the students of The Children’s Place with our ministries at Trinity.
